THE AACMP
The “Association des Amis de Chien de Montagne des Pyrénées” is officially registered at the Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands and notarized on May 26, 2023. The goal is to be an international association.
The “Association des Amis de Chien de Montagne des Pyrénées” is a recognized breed association of the Dutch Kennel Club.
Why this association?
Enthusiasts, breeders and judges have often indicated that there is a need for international association to preserve our breed. This mix is necessary. In this way the breed is illuminated from a different perspective and that is important to keep the dialogue open. For this reason the “Association des Amis de Chien de Montagne des Pyrénées” is founded. By working together at an international level we can achieve more for our beautiful breed.
Why join the AACMP?
The AACMP’s main goals are to maintain the Pyrenean Mountain Dog as a breed and its orginal function, to establish and promote contacts, to exchange knowledge, ideas and experience. The AACMP also wants to contribute to well educated judges. These are important goals, which we believe can be achieved by working together on an international level.
GOALS

How does the AACMP wants to achieve these goals?
- Exchanging knowlegde, ideas and experience, to maintain the breed in his original function.
- Making an inventory of health requirements and hereditary factors open for international discussion.
- Organizing and participating in meetings, lectures, gatherings and consultations.
- Participating in organized cynology.
- Holding and/or supporting clubmatches, exhibitions and other activities.
- Assisting in educate judges and maintenance of a good national and international corps of judges.
- Publishing an international newsletter with topics concerning the breed.
These are ambitious goals, but necessary to preserve the breed and its original function nationally and internationally. By working together step by step.
BOARD AND FUNCTIONS

Renate Chiodi-walraven
president
Founded the AACMP together with Heino van den Berg. Pyrenean mountain dogs have been part of her family since 2000.
Active in breed clubs for over 20 years, more than half of that time as president.
Since 2008, she has been a judge for the Pyrenean mountain dog, as well as a judge for other breeds. She regularly judges Pyrenean mountain dogs at home and abroad, including at club shows.
She is an annual visitor to the RACP’s Nationale d’Elevage in Argelès-Gazost.

Heino van den Berg
treasurer
Founded the AACMP together with Renate Chiodi-Walraven. A great fancier of the Pyrenean mountain dog for over 50 years. Bred dogs together with his sister Ans van den Berg under the kennel name ‘De la Perle du Brabant’.
Active in breed clubs for over 20 years, more than half of which as treasurer.
Annual visitor to the RACP’s Nationale d’Elevage in Argelès-Gazost. In addition, Heino has travelled the world over the years, as far as Australia, establishing many contacts and gaining and sharing knowledge.

Carlien van den Berg
secretary
Secretary of the AACMP since 2025.
Came into contact with the Pyrenean mountain dog enthusiast virus via Ans and Heino van den Berg.
She enjoys being able to contribute to activities surrounding this breed in her role as secretary of the AACMP.

Maud Koenders
Public Relations
Active from the very beginning in providing advice and assistance to the board members of the AACMP, she enjoys all the creative work involved in running a breed club. Pyrenean mountain dogs have been part of her family since 1995.
Regular visitor to the RACP’s Nationale d’Elevage in Argelès-Gazost.
Frequent exhibitor at shows and club shows throughout Europe. Regularly lends a helping hand to various breed clubs in Europe.
